How to submit
— We will not be able to visit your location, so please provide us with as much detail regarding your situation as possible, so that we may provide you with a quality answer. You may choose to attach digital photographs or other relevant documents to the email. When you have collected all of the information, send your question to ask@agriportal.net.

The strength of this service is its ability to respond to detailed technical questions regarding agriculture. In order for our responses to be as useful as possible, we ask that you provide us with all relevant information. A good question will clearly state the nature of the problem and provide details such as the local climate, soil type, the machinery/tools used (for example, do farmers use modern tractors or do they use hoes?), etc.

Example of a good question: Some farmers in my province are growing wheat, but much of the harvest is lost to Sunn pest infestation. The soil pH is approximately 7.5 and annual rainfall is about 380 mm. Fields are usually about 2 ha (5 acres). Planting, harvesting, etc. are done by hand. What practices would you recommend to reduce the loss caused by Sunn pest?

This provides us with a base of information to begin answering the question.

Example of a question lacking detail: What crops should we grow in my province?

We will try to answer this question, but it is very general. We will only be able to provide a general answer.
